It's a very simple one: what do you drive? Please include pictures if possible and anything that makes the car special (mods, story, mileage, etc). This question deserves to be brought back again because there have been so many recent car purchases! (Yes, I know the readers rides spreadsheet exists)
I drive a 1992 Nissan 300zx with only 50,000 miles. I have owned it for 2 months and put about 1000 miles on it. I also never shut up about it...
On a side note, congrats to our very own Ducky on his new miata!

I drive a '97 Mitsubishi Lancer estate as a DD now...
This is the best picture I could find of a car like that in the same colour as mine.

Heyoo, my Crapcan: '94 Safari.
I grew up in this thing. It was only purchased because my car-seat wouldn't fit in my Mom's Saturn SC2. Just rolled over 145,700 today. Hopefully soon I'll be driving a 4th Gen F-Body though.

I drive a mostly uninteresting 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix GT. It has around 95,000 Miles on it. And we bought it in May of 2012 with about 80,500 miles on it. Only issues have been some ABS arm failures and a wiring harness issue. So, not to bad.

just got this beast. 2.5efi-4/slushbox 2-door s10 blazer. 80k miles, runs like a top (just brought it out of a 2 year hibernation. red vinyl innards. i'm diggin' that it only has 1 injector.

I drive a 2003 Lexus ES300 with 94k miles that I have been trying to sell to multiple people including Steve McQueen, James Dean, Carol Shelby, Ayrton Senna, the guy selling the awesome "Rooster" Miata, and JBH who is still holding out on my reasonable offer... I don't have any pics because I'm too lazy to take any. Anyway when new it had around 220 hp but it now puts out around 2whp and 5lb ft of torque. Its slow and boring to drive except for the tire squeal every time you take a corner over 20mph. I too never shut up about trying to sell it.

I'm pretty guilty of not shutting up. So...
That's an 05 Corvette that I got in '12 with 27k on it. I've honestly really not done anything to the car, which I'm surprisingly OK with. It has stock sized Z51 rotors, which were an upgrade from the base Vette size. It may get an exhaust some day, if I keep it.
And that's my 96 Chevy C1500 that I've had since 2004. She's aged quite a bit since that picture was taken a couple years ago...more rust, less clearcoat. But, at 224k, it's not ever let me down.

My baby is a 1976 BMW 2002, which I also never shut up about (sorry). Her name is Alice. I don't have many mods, just a wooden Luisi steering wheel. I used to have a set of RSs on her, but sold them. Their replacements are a set of Gotti 150s, which I've posted before so sorry for being repetitive, but I'll post them below too. She's got about 46k miles on the rebuilt engine and I've had her for about two and a half years now.
My other car, is a 2010 manual Jeep Wrangler Sahara turd. As I posted earlier today, I'm planning on trading this one in for a Fiat 500 Abarth in the next month or so. Mods include a second transmission because the first one broke, a new transfer case because that broke too, and brake calipers that are currently sticking to the rotors, making it nice and safe. It's got 45k miles on it. I've had it for 6 months. Ugh.

My 1995 Toyota 4Runner SR5 4x4. It's my first real ride and I've had it for 2.5 years now. It's got 180k miles going on it's 3rd top end of it's agriculturally smooth 3VZ V6. Original faded white paint that has survived at least 15 California summers, 3 Florida summers, and one Pennsylvania winter. All it has done to it aftermarket wise is whatever the previous owner did. All I know of that is a K&N filter kit and some sort of aftermarket muffler. It also has a 3.5" Pro-Comp lift and 33" tires. All fun stories I have all either involve something on it going wrong or having to retrieve things twice it's size. It did recently take me on a 1000 mile journey without a hitch. Only used 85 gallons of fuel...

It's fun, and reasonably practical...and now I'm happy because I can drive it more often, even though I've given up on driving it to work. Damn construction and gypsum dust everywhere.
![]() 04/15/2014 at 23:00 |

I've been pretty dead set on a second gen CTS-V for awhile. However, it's nice out again, which means its roof off of the C6 weather, so that want will go away for a little while. A lot of my "what do I want to replace it with" thoughts bounce all over...old 911, E39 M5, CTS-V, buy another TBSS and an S2k or Miata at the same time....I'm pretty damn indecisive right now.
Honestly, I plan on moving within the next 8-10 months (as soon as I can pick up a promotion), and where that is geographically will really dictate what I end up doing.

yea, $100 for a battery and wiper blades and an oil change, and 12 hours of cleaning later, it's presentable. needs tires and shocks, and some spraypaint, then it'll be all of the badassery. this thing is so slow I cannot believe it's legal. feels like it has all of 60hp left (45 with the a/c on)

I don't think I'm going to mod it. I've put some money into replacing the lug nuts, license plate brackets, and battery cover, all with factory parts. I've put new tires on it and exchanged the power steering fluid, and detailed the shit out of it, all since January.

My vote goes for TBSS and S2K. The TBSS can actually beat the S2K to 60 and just has such a huge aftermarket. And the S2K is a grown-up Miata. All the choices are so Jalop! Better throw in a CTS-V wagon in there for good measure...

My 03 Miata. My baby. Soon to have a new custom exhaust. other than that she is stock. 73,xxx miles and counting as she is the DD
My 2001 ford escort zx2. Winter beater. Sound system costs almost as much as purchase price
Third is my 91 Cherokee H.O. Pretty much an off road toy. Once as semester is done i get to start tearing it apart. 3ish in lift, stock bald tires, sway bar quick disconnects.

This is Ferrero, my 2012 Fiat 500 Abarth. I bought the wheels before the car arrived and I didn't know how to drive a stick when I ordered it. I've had him for almost 2 years and I plan to keep him forever.

Sooo....
That one would beat my C6 to 60. Kooks long tubs, catless Y, 160 degree T-stat, LS1 e-fans, custom intake, and a pretty aggressive tune. I miss it. I love my car, and it's fun, but the TBSS was awesome. I had the wheels powder coated a graphite color with a ton of flake in it..and yeah...had a bunch of other stuff done. Sniffle. Tear.
V-Wagon is what I'd like to do if I can do it, but they're still a little too spendy for me.
I like the S2k idea for the sake of having something fun, with some balls too. I left out that a bro truck is a real option if I can keep a sports car too...I love me some diesel goodness.

It's pretty good with the right tires and some weight in the trunk. It slides a bit but theres no drama. It only sucks if you have really used winter tires. The DSC will do it's job properly.

![]() 04/16/2014 at 01:19 |

Ahaha. It's definitely a great name. There's a sophistication to it without seeming pompous. I got the name from my little cousin. When I first got Alice and was still trying to think of a name, my 6 year old cousin mentioned that it was the same color as Alice's dress in Alice in Wonderland. From there, it kind of stuck. It was especially (though admittedly unintentionally) fitting when I added the gold BBSs.

I'm rocking a 1984 Porsche 944. Paid $1000 for it last winter. She sat in a barn unused for 8 years before I got it. After I finally got the car home I started cleaning out the interior and came across some interesting articles. Most interesting was a high school student card dated 1988 (my parents graduating year) from the same high school my parents went to. I also found an insurance slip from a former owner (the person I bought the car off had never registered it). I recognized the name on the slip, and as it turned out the car made its way into Canada from Arizona in 1988 and was owned by a long time high school friend of my parents. My mother even showed me pictures of myself in the car when I was a kid.
I also drive a 2012 Civic EX Coupe on the days I feel like blending in.
![]() 04/16/2014 at 02:06 |

The funny thing is that the DCT might be my favorite part :P
The car is perfectly balanced for the average turns you have on the street. It's almost too much of a brute in the tight corners. At least with the stock suspension. The prior M3s were all about balance. This was the first one that went totally nuts with HP.
It's all good cause more and more used cars are becoming available for cheap that have a ton of HP and luxury for what you pay.
The next Mustang GT is exciting to me. It seems like an E92 M3 for less money.

I haven't been able to enjoy it yet. I bought it in Germany last Thursday, and the import process hasn't been completed yet. Notice the lack of plates. Bureaucracy takes time, so I can't legally drive it until they're done.

2000 Peugeot 106 1.1. Completely stock, aside from the stereo. It's special because it's my first ever car - I've had it for around a year and a half now - and because rally car:
I love it enough that, for my next car, I'm just planning to buy a faster version. The 106 GTi was, depending on who you ask, either the best or second best - after the 306 - hot hatch of its day.

I don't like the idea of buying one built. I've got an idiot friend that has a Duramax with bad injectors and he thinks he can get away from it for more than he owes, AND get into a built truck for under $20k. Hence, idiot.

It's parked on a private parking lot of my apartment building. There's a 'verboden toegang voor onbevoegden' sign, so I think I'm doing things legally.
I've been at the RDW last Thursday for an inspection, with an 'eendagskenteken'. Everything was fine. The bureaucracy apparently takes some time to get things sorted, I haven't heard from them since.
![]() 04/16/2014 at 12:36 |

You know our laws, private parking is often still 'openbare weg'. But I suppose you're in the clear for now.
Were they able to determine the 'rest-BPM'? If so you should have gotten your kenteken within a week. At least, that's my experience with the Nieuwegein and Venlo RDW-offices.
![]() 04/16/2014 at 12:42 |

The rest-BPM is 0 because of the age (24 years and 11 months. Today is the exact 25 anniversary of the date it left the factory). I did need to file a BPM aangifte though, which I did last Monday.

How many of us don't love talking about our cars? I have a 2005 Subaru WRX wagon, in WR blue and with about 100k miles. I've owned it for about 5 months and as of right now I haven't done any modifications but I'm planning on new exhaust parts (uppipe and downpipe mostly). And the best part is every time I start it up and drive away I can do it with a smile on my face.
![]() 04/17/2014 at 02:20 |

Good man. I never had mine to either of those, but I did do a couple HPDE with it. Are the T/C ones any better at dealing with wheelhop? I remember how much I hated first gear in that car. If it didn't hop, and had been geared to 45 instead of 35, all would have been right and good. AutoX is probably a better place for it to shine, imho.
![]() 04/17/2014 at 05:33 |

Yup the front suspension is completely revised. Including the springs and struts all round.
It launches well. (launch control is a neat feature). First is still too short which isn't helped by having full torque under 3000rpm. But torque steer is almost gone.
Dunno how GM managed to turn the turd of a Cobalt into such a well rounded sports car.

I am hoping you didn't acquire it through a 144 Month auto loan...
![]() 04/17/2014 at 16:24 |

Haha no I went with the standard 60 Month. But I refinanced it a year later to bring my monthly payments down a bit when cash flow got tight. So it will take me 7 years to pay it off if I don't pay it off early.
I want to use a 144 Month loan to get something really fancy one day. But right now I'm resisting the urge to do that. I've been told that it looks bad to buy another car when I have no furniture in my house and the exterior stucco is damaged and needs to be fixed and painted. I can kind of see what people mean. But you can't drive a sofa...
